Espiche inaugural Men’s Charity Day

Under blue skies and with great enthusiasm 92 golfers teed off at Espiche Golf Course for the inaugural Men’s Charity Day raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer. The players had a fantastic day of golf, ending with lunch, a raffle and an auction. The event raised an astonishing 6,940 euros for the Associação Oncológica do Algarve, helped by an incredibly generous donation by Kelly’s golf society of 1000 euros.

Speaking at the presentation, Ronnie McCullen said: ‘We are pleased to raise money for such an important cause, which, unfortunately, has impacted many of our friends here at Kellys. Thanks for raising awareness – and get tested!’

Andy Watts, golf club captain, said, ‘It is heartwarming to see the golfing community come together with such spectacular results – a huge thank you to our players, sponsors, and donors for making this a red-letter day at the club.’

Club manager Pauline Binnie added, ‘Espiche Golf Club is proud to support a local organisation which gives so much back to the community we love and are part of.’
